How Do I File a Complaint on Doctor’s?

Question by Meshell: How do I file a complaint on doctor’s?
I have been done wrong!!!!

..Please let me tell u the reason why, and if you been done this way I’m so sorry for your pain.. Thank u..

I lived in Tennessee and was sent 2 see a pain management doctor..He put me on Morphine three times a day. So I’ve been doing this for two and a half years now for my broken back which I got due to being a victim in a car crash.

I was seeing this doctor for over a year after moving to Florida, and he was writing them out for me cause he became my doctor. Well he had his nurse come up to me and told me my doctor was gonna start doing drug testing every month to all his patience on narcotic’s. I didn’t mind that I had to take the drug test, I did mind it was gonna cost me $ 25.00 a month to have the test out of my own pocket. What? I can’t afford this I said cause I live on SSD and my medicine where already costing more and more now this? I don’t have the money to pay for a test every month out of my pocket I said..It was that or he wasn’t gonna see me till I paid it. So I got angry and walked out the door.

When I got home thinking about it on the drive home I thought I don’t want a seizure or nothing so I better go without food for a couple of days for this medicine. So I called them up and said I wanted to make a appointment and told her my name she put me on hold. When she got to the phone she said the doctor won’t be seeing me no more and he will be sending a letter in the mail why? She hung up on me after that. I thought omg what am I gonna do for my medicine? I’m gonna go through withdrawals, and all. I am freaking out cause Morphine withdrawals are to play around with.

So I called Social Sec and asked to get a list of doctors in my area, she did and I made a couple of calls and made a appointment.

After getting the paperwork done at the new doctors office its didn’t seem like a bad place at first cause the staff was very nice to me…but after the doctor walked in and saw all my medicines on the counter he said “wow looks like you take a lot of pills?” I thought, yeah but I hate it ,but what can you do? nothing just take them so your not in pain right?

Anyways he started looking at the list and right off the bat he goes why are you on this one, and that one? I said because I have stomach problems and I need them they seem to be helping he said no they don’t, I said well yes they have really, (thinking he was joking how would he know?) He said it again no they don’t. I said well people are different and some medicines work differently on other people. He said nope not true it’s all in their heads. I thought maybe in yours but not in mine, Cause I was in the hospital just last month due to stomach pains and they put me on them..and they have made the pain stop completely since..He then went on to argue about everyone of them and how it was all in my head on needing them..Telling me my back wasn’t really hurting me..I didn’t need the pain pill.

I said to him “Have you ever broken your back? He said, I’ve broken things, I said “yes” but have u broken your back? He wouldn’t answer me I said there I see you haven’t you don’t get it then. How are you gonna tell me how I feel and what is hurting on me? U don’t know. He then continue to make me feel three feet tall, and as if I was a drug addicted person because I was on this hard pill. Not to mention just plain out rude to me..

I am getting tried of these doctors thinking they know everything and how I am feeling they don’t know how another person feels. I hate that. He hurt my feeling so bad I got up and walked out. How can they treat people like this and get away with it? I think it’s decimation if you ask me? If you think I have a case about this and I can sue them for that I would like to know what to do?? Because I don’t think we should let them get away with making people feel this way…

Thank you
The problem I’m having is I know other people who use this doctor and they too are on med’s that should be drug tested and they aren’t even being asked.. why is it that he picked on me.. I never gave him any reason’s, and why aren’t there anything we can do about doctor treating people this way there should be some place we can complain about it, and get action. I feel if we allow it then it will never change..

You contact the state medical board to file a compliant. But with the complaint you have nothing will be done. While he may have been a jerk, he didn’t really break any rules.
