I lived in Memphis for over 8 years, and Orange Mound is definitely a place you NEVER want to visit. I have no clue where it is exactly, but I know it’s in the not-so-nice inner city and outskirts of Memphis. You’ll easily be able to tell where the not-so-nice parts of town are when you’re driving down I-40 towards the Mississippi River. Like many other places in Memphis, Orange Mound is filled with gangs, drugs, and many other things you do not want to deal with. Many years ago, my male friend’s babysitter got shot while driving through Orange Mound (she lived through it, though). Even the MPD are afraid of going in there alone. So if you can avoid going to Orange Mound, please do.

I didn’t know where else to post this so here it goes…I have a friend who is about to leave a christian run treatment center . The past 10 years of her life have run on compulsive behavior and drugs. She now tells me after 3 months that shes clean, free of her manipulative ways, has found god(reads the bible all the time), is ready to commit to a real relationship with trust and faith fullness and so on. I am afraid she might fall through the cracks again but my question is..can a christian way of life and influence really change someone that drastically?? in that short of time?? How often do these people relapse??

I have a son who has struggled with drug addiction, choice of drug is/was oxycontin. He is now in jail after some very poor choices and will be spending time in prison. He is 24. I am in Indiana and am looking for an organization that might be able to help me at his sentencing with information on these evil prescription drugs and what they are doing to our children. My son did not commit the crime, my drugged out son did. He once was a star basketball player and a 3.0 student. Please only serious inquires that want to help or have information that can connect me with the right people.
