I have 7 standard grades, a NC (national certificate) in pre-nursing, HNC (higher nat.cert) in health care and did 2yrs as a student nurse but had to come out of course due to family commitments at the time. I I don’t know what to do as a job, have been to see a career advisor. My ideal job is working with families as a social worker but I can’t go to uni till my family are a bit older. Is there something like this i could do for now, oviously less pay but working wi kids with issues. I don’t know what kind of job title that would be….anyone got any advise (pls no suggesting nursing homes!)

My cousin was sent here in our home by my aunt because she told us she can’t control him. He is my favorite cousin so I love having him around. But I discovered something about him that really shocked me. I learned that he’s using cocaine! When I called my aunt she told me that that’s her problem about my cousin but no matter what she does to help him, he just can’t fight his addiction. Hi. My name is Ian and I’m an alcoholic and drug addict. I’m in an intensive outpatient program at a rehab center. A requirement for the program is that I attend 8 AA/NA meetings. I went to my first one last night. It was in a church basement and there was lots of talk about God and staying sober through his graces. I’ve heard this same kind of talk at group. I’m an strong agonist atheist and think that it is dangerous to build a foundation of sobriety on fantasy. I’m basing my recovery not what makes me feel good but on what is true.

If someone goes to a drug rehabilitation centre for treatment willingly, would they receive a criminal record for drug possession/dealing?

Absolutely not. Your participation in drug treatment is confidential and the treatment center will not reveal or discuss your participation there with anybody. You enjoy the same doctor/patient confidentiality there as you enjoy at a doctors office.
