Can I Kick a Lortab Addiction Using Suboxone in Just 2 Weeks?

Question by kizzzy73: Can I kick a lortab addiction using Suboxone in just 2 weeks?
I am addicted to hydrocodone/oxycodone. This all began because I had back pain and a friend gave me a lortab. Over time the same amount of hydrocodone didn’t help so I would take more. I needed more and more and eventually my friend could no longer supply me. I had an MRI done and it came back clear so I could not get my own prescription. I now buy them illegally. I take lortab or percecet. I take no less than 10 pills per day and have taken up to 25 in a 24 hour period.
I managed to keep my addiction from my family until recently when I decided to tell my husband. This is not the life I want and I know I need help. He has been more supportive than I could have ever imagined and says he will help me do whatever it takes to get me off of this stuff. I feel like I have been living a double life. I’m so tired of needing to take a pill everyday to feel normal. I’m also sick of the life I’m living to get them. The daily hunt for pills, the money I have spent, and most of all… the embarrassment I feel for lying to my family and for letting it get this far. I contacted a rehab clinic yesterday and I am scheduled to begin suboxone next week. I do not want to substitute one addiction for another. I would like to take the suboxone for just 2 weeks, just long enough to get through the withdrawals. Am I thinking realistic or is that just not feasible? Is 2 weeks enough time am I then going to be addicted to this new drug? I would appreciate any advice.
This has been going on for about a year and a half.

YOu can take either suboxone or subutex. I prefer the subutex. Unfortuantely I am an addict that uses recreationally. So I may use a pain killer for a weekend then that might lead into one a day for a week. The withdrawals are a nightmare even for this small amount of time and use. So I have a doctor that I go to when I want to get off my high. He charges 60 dollars for a two week prescription of subutex then the prescription is another 130 so for two weeks about 200. After the two weeks is over my physical addiction is gone and i no longer have any withdrawls, at this point it is then a mental addiction. I have been doing this for a couple years now and I want to quit but somehow that evil creeps back in my life. it is truly battle one that I thought I would never have. The feeling of the pain killers is none like any other and I truly enjoy them. I do know to take them in moderation and it is a problem that I struggle with and have tried professional help etc. My next move is to completely move out of state away from any suppliers and Im taking my subutex and saying good bye to this state. So, to answer your question I honestly do believe that you can kick lortab prescription in 2 weeks with suboxone or subutex good luck and God bless.
